Retail Buying Support – Head Office

Showcase is The Home of the Hottest Trends, and we are looking for a Retail Buying Support candidate with a curious mind that loves to stay at the forefront of consumer trends.  Reporting to the Senior Trend Analyst, you will directly contribute to product sourcing and new product development through trend analysis, research, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify new product trends and innovations as they appear
• Support the Buying team with commentary and insight into potential trends
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports using our proprietary trend technology
• Creates and maintains various databases and libraries in our trend technology platform

Requirements

• 2+ years in Retail
• Strong analytical skills; ability to understand and piece together complex information gathered from many sources, and summarize clearly and concisely 
• Advanced Internet knowledge and experience related to research and information management
• Extremely interested in the retailing of consumer products (especially our key categories of health, beauty, home, and toys)
• Excellent computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Office, and Internet applications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills under pressure
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience with SQL or VBA would be an asset
